Montego's Dominican Mango

Dominican Mango is characterised by a small size (237 g on average), a yellow colour and a lower pulp content than other imported mangoes. It has an oval-oblong shape and turns yellow at maturity with an orange-yellow flesh.They are rich in vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants and contain an enzyme with stomach soothing properties similar to papain found in papayas<br /><br />Fresh dominican mangoes can be pureed in a blender or food processor and poured into ice cube trays for sweet icy pops or put them on a toothpick along with other fruits and eaten with a yoghurt dip. Mangoes can also be curried for a sweet and savoury treat.
