Puna Yam

Puna yam is a Ghanaian or Nigerian yam and a delicious staple food in West African and Caribbean cuisine. This Yam is a hard white yam and has a uniquely light, subtly sweet taste and highly nutrient dense and healthful.

Yam is versatile and tasty when fried, boiled, or cooked into yam pottage, yam porridge, or cooked into Ikokore, an ijebu water yam porridge with smoked fish, palm oil and meat. It is a great alternative to potato and can be roasted, fried, boiled and mashed. It is popular in soups and stews.
