Scotch bonnet peppers are a hot pepper variety that ranges in color from red, orange to yellow when mature. The fruit is prized for the smoky, fruity notes it imparts along with its heat. They are an excellent source of phytochemicals and vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), iron, vitamin B, carotenoids, niacin and magnesium.

Scotch bonnets are best ideally used to season foods which will be jerked or barbecued, they can also add spice to soups and stews. Also the peppers can be pickled or crushed and used to make homemade hot sauces.
